About the Department
The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) was established with a view to develop quality software engineers to meet the current trends in the emerging world of IT. The Department is offering M.C.A., M.Sc. (Computer Science) and M.Phil., & Ph.D., (Computer Science) Part-Time/Full-Time Programmes. The goal of the Department is to educate the students to get technical expertise and knowledge in the field of Information Technology so that it enables them to communicate and use their acquired knowledge constructively for the benefit of others. The Department interacts persistently with esteemed academic institutions, reputed industries and R&D organizations to keep abreast of the latest technologies.

Eligibility
Regular Programme: Passed BCA / Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree or Passed B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.A. with Mathematics at l0, +2 Level or at Graduation Level (with additional bridge Courses as per the norms of the concerned University)". Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examinations as per the norms of AICTE, New Delhi and Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
Duration of the course
Regular Programme: The candidates who are admitted in the programme shall undergo a study period of two academic years with four semesters.

- The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) has organized an ITxcels Association Activities Inauguration and a Seminar on “Tips to Prepare Research Articles” on 30th August 2023. The Resource Person was Dr.S.Manoharan, Principal, Nandha Arts and Science College, Erode.
- The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) conducted a Workshop on “Introduction to UI/UX Design Essentials using Figma” – 15.09.2023 and Mr. Ramesh Palanisamy, Senior UI/UX Designer, GrowAI, Gobichettipalayam was the Resource Person.
- Extension Activity & Outreach Programme – 15.02.2024 The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) conducted a workshop on “Essentials of Computer Skills Set” and campus cleaning activities were carried out on the same day at Government High School, Maniyakaranpudur, siruvalur, Erode.
- ITware Workshop on “Implementation of IoT using Nodemcu” – 16.02.2024 The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) organized a ITware Workshop on “Implementation of IoT using Nodemcu” on 16.02.2024 and Mr.Senthil Subramanian,Technical Head, Mighty Electronics Equipments Corporation, Coimbatore was the Resource Person.

- Tobacco & Drug Effects Awareness Programme – 16.08.2022 The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) in association with Department of Management Studies (PG) conducted an awareness programme about Tobacco & Drug effects among students community on 16.08.2022 and Ms. G. Bharathi, Project Incharge, CARE, Erode was the Resource Person.
- Placement Training Programme – 07.10.2022 The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) conducted a Placement Training Programme on 07.10.2022 and Mr.N.Loganathan, Managing Director, Mullai Academy, Karur & Namakkal was the Resource Person.
- Association Inauguration – 13.10.2022 The Department of Computer Science (PG) inaugurated its ITxcels Association Activities for the academic year 2022 – 2023 on 13.10.2022 with Dr. V.Anuratha, Director – Research and Development, Kamalam College of Arts and Science, Udumalpet as the Chief Guest. A special address on the topic “Data Communication with Security” was delivered by her during the function.
- Guest Lecture on “Conversational Artificial Intelligence” – 21.02.2023 The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) organized a Guest Lecture on Conversational Artificial Intelligence on 21.02.2023 and Dr. D. Kavitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computing – AI & ML, Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore was the Resource Person.
- Extension Activity & Outreach Programme – 01.03.2023 The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) conducted a workshop on “Efficient Utilization of Computers” and campus cleaning activities were carried out on the same day at Panchayat Union Primary School, Veerappampalayam, Erode.
- ITware Workshop on “Ethical Hacking” – 02.03.2023 The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) organized a ITware Workshop on “Ethical Hacking” on 02.03.2023 and Mr. T. Akil, Software Engineer and Ethical Hacker, Accent Techno Soft, Coimbatore was the Resource Person.
- Online Alumni Meet – 20.10.2021 The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) conducted an Alumni meet for the MCA students 2017–2020 and 2018-2021 batches on 20 October, 2021 in Virtual Mode. The Alumni shared their Current profile and Placement information. They suggested information about the current industry needs and revision to be incorporated in the forth coming syllabus. .

- Association Inauguration – 28.10.2021(FN) The Department of Computer Science (PG) inaugurated its ITxcels Association Activities for the academic year 2021 – 2022 on 28.10.2021 with Dr. A.Vijaya, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Computer Applications, Government Arts College (Autonomous), Salem as the Chief Guest. A special address on the topic “Latest technologies in IT” was delivered by her during the function.

- Technology Awareness Programme on “Top evolving technologies and IoT”- 1.11.2021 The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) organized a Technology Awareness Programme – “Top evolving technologies and IoT” on 1.11.2021 and Mr.Girishankar Balasubramaniam, Principal Engineer, Embeded Software Development, Microchip Technology India, Chennai was the Resource Person.
- Placement Awareness Programme – 25.02.2022 The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) organized a Placement Awareness Programme on 25.02.2022 and Mr.Karuppusamy Mohan(Alumnus) & Team, – TekAfforde Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Bengaluru was the Resource Person.
- The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) inaugurated its ‘ITxcel’s’ Association on 24.07.2020 with Dr. A. Jaya, Professor, Department of Computer Applications, B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai as the Chief Guest. A Special address on ‘Health Care Analytics’ was delivered by her during the function.
- The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) organized a Two-day Virtual Handson workshop on ‘Tableau & PowerBI’ from 19.08.2020 to 20.08.2020 and Dr. Ann Baby, Assistant Professor, Department of MCA, Rajagiri College of Social Science(Autonomous), Kochi, was the Resource person.
- The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) organized a Two-day orientation programme for I M.Sc. Computer Science students from 02.11.2020 to 03.11.2020 on the topics ‘I Believe’, ‘Cyber Security’, ’A Footprint for Placement Preparation, ‘ The First Step To Become a Programmer’. Dr.V. - The Department of Computer Science (P.G.) in association with ICT Academy organized a Power Seminar on ‘Empowerment of Education in a Post Pandemic World’ on 11.11.2020 and Mr. Leslie J Praveen Kumar, Assistant Manager, Allsec Technologies Limited, Chennai was the Resource person.
